Budding designer thrives during lockdown
As lockdown continues and we find more time on our hands, many of us are taking up new hobbies, embarking on creative projects and extending our learning much like Senior Girl Amelie who has been spending her time during lockdown experimenting with her textiles studies, designing and creating a number of items from scratch.
From cushions to tote bags and hair scrunchies, the Year 8 pupil has been putting her sewing machine to good use. Using her initiative Amelie has been busily sewing, furthering her knowledge of the subject and learning new techniques along the way. Commenting on her project, Amelie said: “Over this time in isolation I wanted to work on my textiles as I really like the subject. I looked on the internet for some inspiration and decided to do a mini project. My favourite thing to make was the cushion.”
