For the past eight weeks 33 school teams from across the country have competed in over 100 virtual matches and nearly 550 races, an initiative organised by Head of Sailing Paul Robson along with the British Schools Dinghy Racing Association (BSDRA).
The culmination of the virtual tournament for Claires Court came as our U19 team of James (Year 13), Seb (Year 12) and Sam (Year 10) narrowly missed out on this finals by a single point, finishing 5th overall and winning an impressive five races. Our U17 team of Alistair (Year 10), Oli (Year 8), Sam (Year 7) and Aaron (Year 10) finished just ahead of Katie (Year 11), Elicia (Year 11), Jonny (Year 10) and Jonathan (Year 10) who with the same number of points after tie breaks finished in 8th place.
This week saw the finals being broadcast live with commentary which was watched by a number of our sailors as part of their training ready to return to competitions afloat. Full results can be seen here with replays of a number of our matches and the finals with live commentary are available here.
Congratulations to all of our sailors who have taken part.
