A close shave for charity
Year 10 Senior Girl Ophelia embodied the true meaning of charity this week when she underwent a close shave all in the name of a very good cause.
Wanting to support young people going through cancer treatment, Ophelia decided on a substantial haircut, donating her hair to The Little Princess charity who make real hair wigs for young people who have lost their hair during their treatment. A selfless gesture, Ophelia commented: “I have wanted to shave my head for a while now, so I decided to wait until it was long enough to donate. The charity that I am donating to is 'Little Princess Trust' who make free wigs for children who suffer from hair loss due to cancer.
Head of Senior Girls Steve Richards praised Ophelia: “Well done Ophelia, this is a truly selfless act and we are very proud of you.”
