Claires Court Alumnae selected for Olympics!

Huge congratulations to two Claires Court alumnae who have been selected to represent Great Britain in their respective sports in the Tokyo Olympics later this year. This will be the second time World number one Amber Hill has joined Team GB in skeet shooting having completed the Rio Olympics as a finalist at just age 18. Former Head Girl Ellie Rayer, part of the Team GB hockey squad, will be joining her fellow elite teammates for her first Olympics, a dream held since age 10.
Ellie started her journey with Claires Court in the nursery back in 1999 and progressed through Juniors to Seniors to complete her A-levels in the Sixth Form. She then furthered her love of hockey at Loughborough University where she studied Sports Technology in 2015. Amber pursued her passion for skeet shooting after taking her GCSEs with Claires Court and later that year won BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2013, age just 16.
Both Amber and Ellie have generously given their time to talk in assemblies about their experiences and to show how they balance elite sport with the demands life presents. As exceptional role models, they have motivated and inspired students in PE lessons through demonstrating their remarkable skills in their chosen fields.
“I remember in particular Ellie saying from her time as Head Girl 'You can have it all'. It certainly looks like with hard work, determination and practise, you absolutely can!” Stephanie Rogers, Head of Sixth Form
