Claires Court Shed Theatre’s production of ‘Coward’

The Claires Court Shed Theatre, a group of current and former drama students all passionate about theatre are taking to the West End stage again this summer. The company, involving actors, technicians and designers are performing their show ‘Coward’ at Leicester Square Theatre from 22nd - 26th August.   Maggie Olivier, Head of Drama and the inspiration behind the project said:

Coward is a workshopped play, created by the cast and crew and refined over time. The piece explores the contrasts in Noel Cowards life; the extrovert performer, with all his flamboyancy, juxtaposed with his inner struggles. It is a play about gains and losses. Whilst Noel Coward gained celebrity and public popularity he lost so much in terms of personal friendships and love.

It celebrates the exuberant performances of Noel, it’s funny, it’s sad, it’s slow and fast, it is solemn and lively.

The most remarkable thing for me in my experience of our summer productions is that past and present students are willing to give up their summer holiday to create and perform. And through the support of James Wilding and the School, Claires Court Shed Theatre is able to flourish.”

Coward runs at Leicester Square Theatre in the West End from the 22nd - 26th August.
