Ross Muil commented;
“My results are amazing, I am in shock at the moment. I joined a new school from a different country in Year 12 and found everyone was so welcoming. I was really nervous and at first I found it hard to adjust to the style of learning and questioning. All the hard work has paid off! I’m looking forward to starting at my first choice University, Leeds to study Economics after a gap year at Senior Boys.”
James Moore is going to Portsmouth to study engineering geology and geotechnics. He has also secured a sponsorship from the Geological Society, which as well as significant funding offers a 3rd year sandwich placement and possibility of employment at the end.
He said;
“It took a while for the realisation to sink in that I had go my grades. I think my work experience with the Met Office and the A for my EPQ really supported my application.”
Charlotte Docker said;
“I am very relieved and shocked at my results, but delighted to have got such good grades. Coming to Claires Court in Year 10 was the best decision I have ever made and I can’t wait to go to Leeds University.”
Tom Clarke said of his results;
“I am delighted to have got into Exeter to study Psychology. With A Levels the hard work is all your own responsibility but the support from my teachers really made the difference.”
James Wilding, Academic Principal said,
“I am delighted for all of our candidates this year, whose excellent results have enabled them to access the Universities and higher education of their choosing. We are seeing a steady growth in the number of students who are choosing to move on into employment, with appropriate links to further education and professional development support.
All but two of our students gained their chosen University places, the two in clearing are ‘near misses’ so we have high hopes they will be placed appropriately. 22% are on other routes, including permanent employment, and those seeking to pursue Arts foundation courses prior to their University application.”
Andy Giles, Head of Sixth Form added,
“Our students through their own hard work and determination have secured another set of great results. Our role to enable these young people to achieve their goals, whether it is further academic study, apprenticeships or employment is married with development of young people who are confident and articulate.”
