Marchants Hill

After settling into their first week in Year 5, pupils from the Junior Boys and Girls joined forces for an exciting action-packed weekend away. Their destination was PGL, Marchants Hill Activity Centre, found at the edge of the natural beauty spot of Hindhead Common and the Devil’s Punch Bowl, Surrey.
The pupils travelled across the 45 acres of grounds over the weekend completing a variety of challenging activities. This year they had a go at Jacobs Ladder, Zip Wire, Trapeze, Aeroball, Rafting and Hiking.
All the boys and girls learnt how to wear a safety harness for the climbing activities and they all had a go at belaying - being responsible for the ropes and safety of fellow climbers.
Evening activities and challenges included Wacky Races (the teachers team winning the run like a chicken and lay an egg challenge) and Sports Night, where the children enjoyed participating in a variety of sporting games including Capture the Flag.
All in all Year 5 had an exhilarating weekend away, they were challenged, well-fed and arrived home Sunday ready for bed!
