Exploring the Great Outdoors

Year 2 boys and girls visited 'The Rye' in High Wycombe for their first trip of the academic year, and what a brilliant day out it was! They started the day by exploring a variety of habitats, doing some bark rubbings and leaf prints. It was then on to do some pond dipping and where they caught not one, but two rather feisty crayfish.
After lunch the pupils made their way to the Dyke and made a tally of the flotilla of mallards that followed them. To end the trip, using leaves, grasses and flowers they found around their feet they made rainbows!
Poonam Barj, Teaching Assistant said;
“It was a really great day out, the boys and girls were so enthusiastic and returned to school with some great memories and lovely comments.”
