Scientifically Testing the Effect of Caffeine

Investigating the effect of caffeine on reaction times has been this week’s topic in Year 9 Biology.

The source of caffeine was Coca Cola; half the class drank normal diet Coke while the half drank caffeine free Coke. The test was a double blind, so neither the teacher nor the pupil knew who was drinking which one. The majority of the results showed, that caffeine in coke does speed up your reaction time, when put to the test of catching a dropped ruler.
