Exploring the Wonders of the Living Rainforest

After studying the Amazon all term, Year 6 went to explore the Living Rainforest for themselves!
The girls were able to experience the humid atmosphere and see the size of the plants and leaves - they now understand why it can take 10 minutes for rain to penetrate the canopy and reach the forest floor!
They found colourfully-billed toucans, hairy tarantulas, cacao beans and brazil nuts. The pupils were able to appreciate the effects of deforestation and think about what they can do to help ensure a sustainable future for us all.
