The event helped the boys to practise and develop the French skills they have been learning since Year 4.

In preparation for the morning, the boys designed and printed French menus, made posters and familiarised themselves with the use of the Euro.  They enjoyed being French customers, served by French waiters (their peers), to the sound of local music, they gave their orders in French and tipped with their fake money to show their appreciation of the fare on offer.  

Year 5 Teacher, Mrs Shannon, commented on the event;

“The boys really enjoyed their morning and kindly thanked all the teachers involved.  It was lovely to see them having such a good time as well as being able to practise their French. We have received such positive comments from parents too!”
