Zumba Challenge

On Monday afternoon we were delighted to welcome Mrs Meredith, parent of a pupil at Claires Court, and her colleague to the School to run a Zumba Challenge for the Senior Girls as a fundraiser for Mr Meredith. Mr Meredith is taking on the challenge of running in the Marathon Des Sables in April 2017. This event takes place in the Saharan Desert and is a distance of 255 km, with a double marathon on the last day. Their goal is to raise £10,000 for the charity Hope for Children, focussed on educating children and uplifting families from poverty situations.
Mrs Margaret Heywood, Assistant Head at Senior Girls said;
“Mrs Meredith has been a Zumba instructor for many years and this new experience was engaging for all who took part. The lively energetic Zumba routines which the girls found thoroughly enjoyable, and although slightly reticent at the start, they were smiling and full of more confidence by the end of the sessions. We wish to thank Mrs Meredith and hope she will visit again and wish Mr Meredith good luck for the incredible challenge in April.”
