Pupil Voice Visit Marlow School

Claires Court Junior Boys Pupil Voice School Council were invited to visit Spinfield School in Marlow.

13 of our School Council Representatives from Year 1 to Year 6, met with 10 of Spinfield's School Council Representatives.

Mrs Linda Stay, who runs the school council said;
“We were warmly welcomed and pupils enjoyed learning about how both School Councils are run and the contributions they have made to their relevant schools. Spinfield were impressed to hear that Mr Spanswick has invited all pupils, as part of Pupil Voice, to contribute to the school development plan. Miss Spreadbury, Head Teacher of Spinfield, thought this was a good idea and has asked her school council if they think this would be something pupils at Spinfield would like to do in the future.

We discovered that Spinfield mostly raise money for global charities where as we mostly raise money for local charities.

Our School Council were pleased to also meet Spinfield's Global Citizenship Team who told our boys about their links with a school in Pakistan and a School in Napal. Spinfield have worked on collaborative projects with both of the international schools and forged new friendships. Our School Council are now looking at how both Claires Court Junior Boys and Junior Girls could start their own Global Citizenship links with schools outside of the UK. We ended the meeting with a drink and a biscuit.

We have agreed that we will meet with Spinfield School Council Representatives in the Summer Term and we will invite the Junior Girls School Council to join us. This meeting will be held at our Junior Boys site, date to be confirmed.”
