Exploring the Work of a Local Artist
As part of their art topic, Year 5 girls visited The Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham on Friday 27 January with Ms McLean and Mrs Wardman.
One of the volunteers, Paul Grandidge, gave the girls a fascinating talk, introducing the local artist, Sir Stanley Spencer, and explaining how the gallery came into being. The girls then studied a couple of his paintings before having the freedom to explore the whole gallery. They are now looking forward to seeing more of his work when they visit The Imperial War Museum next term.
