Children in the Nursery this week celebrated Chinese New Year and Vietnamese Lunar New Year as they have a Vietnamese girl in their class. Here are the different activities they took part in:
The children made and painted a chinese dragon and danced with it, learning that dragons are a sign of power, strength and good luck. They found out that red and gold are used at this time of year because these colours represent good luck and got creative making red and gold pictures using chopsticks.
The children did dragon dancing with confidence and control, they seemed to manage the steps quite admirably.
