Birds Swoop in for English Lesson

On Thursday the Junior Girls had a special treat. Jason and Rob from Falconry UK visited the school with a collection of birds of prey including owls and hawks.
The girls took part in a workshop and talked about bird anatomy, identifying bones and studying bird pellets.
Mr Jawad Laouira, Year 6 teacher said,
“The children learned all about these amazing birds and some of them were lucky enough to hold one! The visit was organised for Year 6 as they are reading a novel called 'Skellig' in which owls feature, but all Junior Girls got the chance to see the birds. We would like to thank the PTA for funding this fantastic event!”
