Boys St Lucia Cricket Tour
Boys in Year 9 and 10 had an inspiring and thrilling nine day Cricket Tour to St Lucia during the half-term break. Whilst touring St Lucia and playing against various cricket clubs on the island, the boys also had the opportunity to give some cricket coaching to primary school pupils in Gros Islet, and present the children with some cricket equipment.
Sebastian said:
“The children we taught were very energetic and loved the cricket coaching. It was great to see them having such good fun using the opportunity they might not usually get. It was also an opportunity for them to play with full cricket equipment as I don't think they would usually get the chance when they play a cricket match with their friends.”
Matthew said:
“My time in St Lucia on the school cricket tour has without a doubt been one of the best experiences of my life. The cricket we played there was a whole new experience to what we were used to back at home. For example the pitches were much harder and drier than English ones which benefited the spinners a lot. Cricket is St Lucia's main sport (other than football) so the standard was very high even though they don't have the best facilities or equipment.”
