Determination at County Hockey Tournament

With great team spirit, determination and enthusiasm the Junior Girls rose to the challenge of the U11 County Hockey Tournament, held at Bradfield School on 24 February.

The first team Claires Court came up against was Oaklands, it was an exceptional match, with our girls coming away with a 2-0 win. Next the girls faced LVS and again played impressively, resulting in a 3-0 score to Claires Court.

The final match in the first round was against Hockey Girlsthe Highfield ‘A’ team, who gave them a very tough game, seeing the girls sadly lose  0-2.  The girls played exceptionally well throughout the morning and came second in the group with six points! It was then over to the next round…

The Claires Court team were put under a lot of pressure against their first team, Holme Grange, resulting in a 2-0 win to the opposition. Player of the match went to Temi Odesanya for her excellent composure in defense, always clearing the ball wide.

In the very last game the girls came up against the Highfield ‘B’ team. With our girls very determined to win this one, they started strong and with a great goal from Yana, Claires Court won the match 1-0.

Miss Katie Hudson, PE Teacher commented;

“Despite just missing out on qualifying, the girls played some exceptional hockey on the day and should be very proud of their achievements.  It was an excellent team effort and an experience we can build on”

Squad: Paris Meek Patten, Maddie Ingoldsby, Freya Wilson, Alana Ainsley, Yasmin Paton, Yana Todorova, Harriet Taylor West, Amelie Helm, Riley Hopley, Temi Odesanya.
