EPQ Students On The Research Trail
Researching the Extended Project Qualification can be a daunting task, especially when most of the best academic sources require membership status or costly subscriptions. Our Year 12 students pursuing their EPQ are not to be put off so easily... if the information won't come to them, then they'll go and find the information!
Their special visit to Royal Holloway University was all about research. Visiting both of the University's academic libraries provided some excellent resources for their EPQ projects.
"This was a great opportunity for good quality research” said Claires Court Librarian, Paula Copeman. "However, the visit is not just about finding information, but also learning the importance of effective research - how to plan projects, how to evaluate sources and learning search techniques and strategies for using academic databases and digital libraries. These skills are not just essential for the EPQ, they are excellent preparation for undergraduate study"
