Absorbing Performances
On Friday 24 March, the Senior Boys GCSE Drama pupils performed for their final practical examination. The first group performed an extract from Teechers by John Godber, a high-paced satirical comedy about education.
Ably assisted by last minute Year 10 stand-in Josh Petrook, Murdo Binnie, Zeeshan Hussain, Seb Pinnington and Olly Yate performed brilliantly with some great work on sound from Fehmeel Hussain.
Second to take to the stage was Charlie Parr, performing an extremely powerful monologue from King John by William Shakespeare. He was followed by Oscar Bishop, James Platt and Callum Ewing with an edit of The Beggar and the King by Winthrop Parkhurst, performed in the style of Brecht.
The performers rose to the challenge admirably and produced energetic, entertaining and absorbing performances. Everyone involved should be very proud.
