The Pond is Alive with Frogs

This week the Nursery have been learning about the lifecycle of a frog. In the wildlife area the children had great fun using an aqua scope to investigate wildlife hidden below the surface of the pond.
The children then created some lovely frog masks, puppets and life cycle charts, and enjoyed hopping around the rooms pretending to be these jumpy creatures. They also made a beautiful display of 5 green and speckled frogs.
With spring here the pond is alive with water life and the children are fascinated by all the movement and development of the tadpoles, newts, water boatmen and dragonfly nymphs.
The tank of tadpoles in the classroom has allowed the children to watch the creature develop and grow, as well as changing the water to keep them clean.
