Year 3 Topics This Week

Over in Year 3 lessons have been interesting and varied, with the girls looking at what ‘being special’ means and the Maasai Tribe.

The girls discussed what 'being special' meant and how everyone is different and special in a different way. They then went into their groups to discuss this in more detail and came up with their own role play about how someone could be special to someone else.

African FlagsExamples included helping others when they were struggling to understand something, or boosting someone's confidence by working collaboratively. They all agreed, all of these things make us special individually but together we are great as a team!

On a different topic, the girls looked at the Maasai - a Kenyan tribe. One if their traditions is where the men compete for their wives by jumping as high as they can on the spot. The highest jumper wins the wife!

As well having a go at the jumping the class made tribal dancers and Maasai jewellery.

Below is a video on the girls practising their jumping!
