Touring an Astonishing Building

As April drew to a close, we were lucky enough to take Year 8 boys & girls to visit the Hindu Temple at Neasden. Pupils were welcomed with a tour and given a talk on the history of what is arguably one of the most astonishing buildings in the world.
They were amazed to find out how every intricate detail had been carved in marble by hand in India and then transported to London, where it was built by volunteers over a three year period.
The boys and girls were then invited to witness an 'Arti' ceremony which is a form of Hindu worship using candles, incense & chanting. It was an enriching experience that will stay with everyone who attended for many years to come.
