Easter Sailing Camp

Easter Monday saw the first Sailing Camp of the year at the National Sailing Academy at Portland. Fifteen sailors travelled down to the coast for two days of intense pre-summer season training. The weather held nicely and all the sailors had a chance to really blow the cobwebs away.
The intermediate group had some great top level coaching from one of the GBR team coaches and finished the trip by joining with the top group for some impromptu racing – a first for most of them.
The beginners – now most definitely the ‘improvers’ – were joined for a spell on day two by a dolphin who swam about among the boats and paddle boarders for a while.
The next camp will take place at the end of the summer holidays, just before the Autumn Term begins.
