Nursery Explore the Woodlands

As part of Nurseries topic "The great outdoors" they looked at parkland and woodland this week and went to Claires Court Junior Boys on the school minibus, which in itself was a huge adventure for the nursery children.
The children discovered logs and branches which they used to build dens in the trees and found charcoal to draw with. Together they retold the story of the bear hunt with the children shouting out the rhyme as they explored the " long swishy grass" before eventually finding the bear!
While exploring the grounds they ran through long grass, made bark rubbings, observed the different shapes and sizes of the trees and collected leaves and charcoal to use on their return.
GREAT fun was had by all and lots of learning happened.
