What’s Planned for JB Healthy Eating Week

Next week is the annual Healthy Eating Week at school. We shall be encouraging the boys to undertake 5 challenges during the week and hope that you will also help wherever possible.
The challenges are:
Eat Breakfast
5 a Day
Drink Plenty
Get Physical
Try Something New
We are giving the boys a tracker sheet to record their successes.
Eat Breakfast - eat breakfast every day. Try eating something new such as swapping to wholemeal cereals/bread or by adding fresh or dried fruit. Protein such as eggs or fish are a good way to start the day.
5 a Day - Can you have 5 portions of fruit and vegetables in a day? If you think that might be too easy the super challenge is to have 5 different fruit and vegetables every day!
Drink Plenty - a water station will be available in the playground during break times so that the boys can access water quickly. Please make sure that your son has a water bottle or non breakable cup in school next week.
Get Physical - a course around the school field will be marked out for the boys to follow. Each time they complete a lap the collect a stamp on their tracker. They can walk or jog the route alone or with friends during their break times. The challenge is to walk a mile a day.
Try Something New - anything that is new to the pupils can be recorded on the back of the tracker. This may be a new breakfast food or trying a new route to school.
At the end of the week the trackers can be handed in form teachers and these may earn prizes for the boys.
