Pupils Shine Bright at Music Concert
This year’s concert by Senior Girls and Sixth Form featured many of those with GCSE or A Level recitals imminent as well as those just starting on their musical journey in the school.
Hester Goodsell, Director of Music, said, “The Vox choir, comprising of pupils from Years 10-13 plus teachers, opened the concert singing 'Ho Hey' by the Lumineers, accompanied by Sixth Former, Ed Axtell on the guitar. One of the shining performances this year came from the Year 7-9 choir with a three part rendition of Sam Smith's 'Stay with Me'.”
She added, “The development of the ensemble group recently has been fantastic and they made their debut performance at this concert. Highlights of the solos included three original compositions from Cassie Halpin, Flora Gault and Ed Axtell and Niamh Bates singing 'Lascia ch'io pianga.' The Rock School showed their inspirations by performing AC/DC's 'Back in Black' and Hannah Senior moved us all with a rendition of 'close every door'. Huge congratulations to all who took part!”
