  • Juniors wow with first virtual harvest performances

    Published 09/10/20

As we continue to adapt to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s harvest celebration takes on an even more special meaning as pupils, staff and our community give thanks for what they have.

Unfortunately we were unable to invite parents and friends to our harvest festival this year, instead our Juniors prepared a number of special virtual performances which were emailed home to parents last week. With singing vegetables and dancing leaves, pupils really pulled out all the stops as they performed songs such as ‘Across the fields’ and ‘Thank your lucky stars’. Head of Junior Girls, Leanne Kirby, commented: “Our harvest festival video includes songs and readings all about harvest and how thankful we are. I hope you enjoy this and I am only sorry that we couldn’t welcome you in to enjoy this celebration with us.” Dean Richards, Head of Junior Boys, added: “Our house captains really embraced their harvest festival assembly tasks and the year group bubbles enjoyed being filmed singing in the marquee.”
