Meet the Head
Head of Juniors and Nursery School
Leanne Kirby, Head of Nursery and Juniors, shares her vision for the children in her care and what inspired her to teach.
"I came into teaching to make a difference, to inspire and to thought provoke. I am passionate about bringing learning to life, developing skills and fostering happiness and resilience in young people."
WHAT MAKES CLAIRES COURT NURSERY School SPECIAL?
Our Nursery nurtures the whole child through creative and imaginative play. Our experienced and caring staff ensure that each child is seen as an individual and extend a variety of opportunities to learn new and exciting things.
How do you nurture learning at such an early age?
We nurture learning by getting to know the children really well, offering a range of activities and adapting our teaching to the children’s interests and what they want to learn.
Who inspired you to teach?
I have been very lucky to have many fantastic teachers in my life; my parents being two of them. Growing up with two PE teachers and houseparents to many children over the years, certainly stood me in good stead for a life in education. Seeing their overwhelming passion and drive really did rub off on me.
We, as teachers, have a chance to inspire and influence the next generation; we should not take this lightly and feel privileged to have that extraordinary opportunity.
