Meet A Pupil
Maz - Year 8
Maz has been at Claires Court since Year 5, when he had a taster day at the school and had a good feeling about it and found the class sizes much better.
Maz’s favourite subjects are maths and art. He likes the challenge of maths and thinks it’s great his teachers are already introducing them to GCSE level maths work. In art, he’s studying patterns at the moment and is looking forward to starting his individual project on the topic.
When asked how he’d describe Claires Court in three words, he said: “amazing, friendly and perfect.”
Interviewed January 2018
“My favourite thing about the school is the teachers, as they understand how to push you as an individual and whilst being strict, they are all really friendly. I like taking part in the music clubs after school, and I play the piano and electric guitar. At the moment I’m having electric guitar lessons at school which are really helpful, and last term I won the music inter-house competition which I’m proud of.
“I know that I want to stay for Sixth Form, my brother is in the Sixth Form and he loves Claires Court too. In the future, I think I want to study Engineering or Design at university. Design Technology lessons at this school are the best I’ve ever had. I’m currently making a wooden storage unit for my video consoles. The new campus sounds like a great idea, and I think it would be a nice way to connect with the younger years and make their lives better. We could be good role models for them, and help them with work, like my friends and I did with Reception when I was at Junior Boys.”
