Guide to the Sixth Form
The Sixth Form is a successful, vibrant and engaging learning environment and the best way for you to experience this is for you to come to an Open Event, or make an appointment via the Registrar to meet with Mrs Rogers.
In the meantime, here are a few other pieces of information that may be of interest:
Attendance in the Sixth Form is full time; registration takes place both morning and afternoon and any absence is notified to parents and guardians.
We see our Sixth Former's as role models to the rest of the school and expect the highest standards of conduct and appearance at all times. Students must be smartly dressed, as they would be if working in a professional environment.
- Formal Business Suit, shirt, tie and shoes
- Formal Business Suit, blouse or shirt and shoes
- Dresses are acceptable provided they are worn with a jacket
The Sixth Form is based at our College Avenue site with dedicated teaching and tutorial rooms and separate specialist facilities for Art, ICT, Photography, Music, Music Technology and Media Studies. The students have use of the School's excellent library and online research facilities and this together with study support provides excellent opportunities to develop high level research skills and the personal discipline to undertake self-directed study. The Sixth Form Centre also houses the Sixth Form common rooms and the proximity of Maidenhead town centre allows students to take lunch or shop for essentials.
Adjacent to the Sixth Form Centre is a separate rehearsal space “The Chapel” as well as the Music School, ICT suite, sports hall with a fully equipped modern theatre stage, music recording studio, science laboratories, indoor swimming pool, astroturf, tennis court and playing fields. In addition we make use of specialist high quality off-site facilities including Maidenhead Rugby, Rowing and Hockey clubs, Magnet Leisure Centre, and our Senior Boys site.
Some specific lessons take place at Senior Boys and transport is provided.
