Nursery Life
We are able to warmly welcome your son or daughter to Claires Court from the age of 2.
We have three rooms with a maximum of 16 children in a class including a separate room for two-year-olds. Each class is led by a Class Leader and one or more, Nursery Assistants. We have a small staff to child ration so that your child has the perfect environment to flourish and get ready for school.
When joining Claires Court, each child will be allocated a nominated key worker who will support your child in settling in, learning and keep you informed. Our highly qualified and experienced staff understand joining the school at Nursery is not only an exciting milestone for your child but also for you, their parents. We work hard to get to know your family, creating a bond and understanding for both parents and child.
We are always happy to have a chat at the end of the day, or if you need time to talk something through. Phone calls or one-to-one appointments can easily be arranged.

A day in Nursery
Morning
These sessions are structured with gym, music, assemblies and a range of ‘free play’ activities including role play, painting and modelling. Children enjoy adult led activities working either one-to-one or in small groups.
Lunchtime
Children are supervised while eating a hot lunch prepared on-site or a packed lunch from home*.
Menus can be found here.
**During the Covid-19 pandemic and recent supply issues, hot prepared lunches may be subject to change and during lunchtime sessions children are supervised while eating a packed lunch from home.
Afternoon
Creative play, pond dipping, exploration of fine/large motor skills, music, and physical education are all activities that take place in the afternoon and vary term by term. Specialised teachers teach dance, yoga and music lessons. There is also the opportunity to be involved in cooking, tending to the vegetable garden and many more hands-on activities.
MOVING ON TO SCHOOL and family deposit
Our EYFS comprises both Nursery and Reception and a place will be reserved for your child in either Reception at Junior Girls or Reception at Junior Boys. We have therefore aligned our deposit with the main school and as such, a deposit of £500 is required when accepting an EYFS place at Claires Court. This is classed as a 'family deposit' and is only paid once. If subsequent siblings join us at any entry point, this will carry through and is refundable on the last child leaving the main school. However, if the initial place accepted is not taken by your son or daughter then the deposit will be retained by the school. A £100 Registration Fee is payable with your application form for an Early Years place at Claires Court. This is non-refundable once an offer is confirmed in writing by the School.
We'd love for you to be part of the Claire Court community and welcome any questions you may have, as well as the opportunity to meet the Heads.Read Next
