Pastoral Care

Pastoral care arrangements at Claires Court are ‘excellent’, as reported in our 2014 ISI inspection. Reflecting that our aim to nurture and support pupils and realise our values of responsibility, respect, loyalty and integrity are being met at the highest level.
Caring and supporting
We believe that happiness is the prerequisite to any success, whether academic or in life. Our network of teachers and professional support staff are good listeners, they spot the girls that need encouragement and guidance and know that sometimes things outside of school life can have an impact on a pupil’s learning. Our aim is to equip pupils with the skills needed to be resilient and confident and develop their sense of self-worth so they flourish and cope with the many demands made of them.
Senior Girls are good role models and firm friendships are established between pupils of all ages. Alongside these ‘excellent’* relationships is a sense of trust and approachability with teachers, for both pupils and parents. The form tutor leads on matters of pastoral care, with dedicated sessions on PSHEE** taking place during form time, covering everything from staying safe online to mental well-being and the pressure of being a teenager.
The pastoral care of the pupils throughout the school is a major factor in the high levels of success they enjoy and their outstanding personal development
