Believe in Yourself
Whatever you want to be, whatever you want to do, whether academic, sporting or creative, we believe you can have it all if you want, you just have to put your mind to it and BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.
We will help you every step of the way by providing learning opportunities to extend your knowledge and understanding and coach you so you have the right study skills to be successful. However, you must realise that learning is not a passive activity, in lessons you will be expected to carry out independent study, be active and engaged in class discussions and read more around your subjects in your own time.
As a Claires Court Sixth Former, you will discover more about yourself so you can be an effective team player and leader. We will give you the chance to adopt the techniques for a ‘Growth Mindset’, so you have the self-belief that through hard work and persistence you can accomplish whatever you choose.
If on occasions we notice you need some support to maintain that belief, we’ll be there with friendly advice and positive encouragement.
"We are really happy that we brought ‘BT’ to your school, I have never seen him enjoy school this much, he chats about his day over dinner and I particularly love the fact you obviously work him hard but he has a lot of fun as well (Mr Giles and the jumper spring to mind). He tells us he is really happy and in fact tried to go to school on Wednesday even though he was ill.
I know he likes it that the teachers treat them like adults and take an interest in them, he also knows he can come to you if he needs anything, his last head of Year 12 had never spoken to him. ‘BT’ was also shocked that the teachers mark the homework, ask him to correct it and check it again.
I told ‘BT’ when he got his AS results from his previous school that life can hit you hard sometimes and it's how you deal with it that matters, right now I could not be more proud of him.
We can't thank you and the school enough."
