Senior Boys main office and entrance

We look forward to welcoming all visitors at our main office reception. Any lost property or items to be collected will be kept in the main office. There is some visitor car parking available.

Sports hall

Our main hall, the Nicholas Watson Centre, is used for indoor sports, and has adjacent rooms and a gallery which houses a gym, rowing training equipment and drama rehearsal space. The hall is also used for many assemblies during the week, parents' evenings and special events for drama and music.

Music centre

Our music centre teaches pupils in a range of disciplines and instruments, and adjacent practice rooms house specialist digital equipment for composition, mixing and production, as well as for individual lessons in a range of instruments and voice.

Dining room

Our dining room offers nutritious and delicious hot and cold meals. Payments are made using biometrics. It opens in time for breakfast, covers both morning breaktimes as well as hosting lunch for both pupils and staff. We're a no-nut and allergen-free school. Menus are available on our website at the link below. We are committed to playing our part in reducing our carbon footprint and creating good environmentally-friendly practices in our school community. And, we have installed new fresh water dispensers and we are stopping our use of bottled water, which saves approximately 25,000 bottles a year – this is one tonne of plastic and will save 1.5 tonnes of carbon.

Sports and physical education

Our pupils explore a wide-range of sports, competing at local, regional and national level. The indoor and outdoor sports facilities, and all-weather pitches are used for a range of physical education classes for all abilities. Our nearby rowing and outdoor education centres are a short walk from school, and our shuttle bus links to our playing fields, sailing centre at Taplow, nearby Huntswood golf course, Braywick stadium and Leisure Centre, Boyne HIll Cricket Club, and to other international standards sports centre such as Bisham Abbey and Dorney Lake.

Library

Reading is a cornerstone for pleasure and education. Our junior and senior libraries have full time support from qualified librarians and provide comprehensive print and digital collections. Our library services offer quality information sources for curriculum support, homework and research, and as pupils get older they can develop their skills in referencing, copyright protection and avoiding plagiarism. Pupils can order resources using ‘click and collect’ services or access information online through the Library website and Google Classrooms.

Senior Boys

Senior Boys succeed with our academic and pastoral support in academic, arts and sports. We have small class sizes and there are opportunities for trips and sports fixtures. The boys' GCSE achievements include 100% gaining five 4+ grades.

Coach stop

Coaches will drop off and pick up from here.

We have fitness facilities in additional cabins outside the sports hall for individual and small group training. Pupils enjoy keeping fit and active for their own health and wellbeing as well as competing at the highest standards.

Theatre and drama studio

Our centre for drama is the SHED theatre, which is a fully equipped. It is a well-used rehearsal and teaching space, and it provides an excellent facility for the filming of GCSE and A-level performances for the exam boards, as well as for Trinity College examinations in Public Speaking.

Science centre

The lower floor of the Josephine WIlding building is home to our laboratories for the specialist teaching of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. We also incorporate many additional opportunities for investigative work, including fieldwork and forensic science.
