Personalised Learning

Our motivational and inspirational teachers have an excellent understanding of how boys learn and how they all absorb knowledge and understand differently.
The personalised learning approach, ensures that in the small classes of 15 to 20 pupils, our skilled teachers will be responsive to how your son learns best, know his capabilities and assign work that is balanced and appropriate. This differentiation within the classroom ensures that learners of different abilities are stretched and challenged, or supported and encouraged, allowing each boy to progress, achieve and participate.
LEARNING DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
Boys who have additional learning requirements in reading, spelling, Maths and study skills are supported by the Learning Development Department. Your son will be assessed on entry to the School and reports from previous schools will be taken into account. If learning needs are identified, our special needs coordinators (SENCOs) will work closely with subject staff to ensure that the appropriate teaching and learning methods are in place to support your son. If individual support is needed this will be discussed with you along with any costs it may entail. Boys receiving specialist support have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) which builds on the curriculum; it is designed to set out the strategies being used to meet your son’s identified needs. This is reviewed twice yearly.
Small teaching groups and the teachers’ strong understanding of the needs of individual pupils enhance their progress and learning
