Year 10 and 11
GCSEs become the focus in Years 10 and 11.
Your son will have chosen his GCSE course options in Year 9. He will have developed good learning and work habits and with his tutor he will start to compile his Pupil Action Plan. This is an on-going document which records his achievement and effort grades, his individual work targets and reflects his GCSE aspirations.
As in Year 7, pupils undertake baseline testing, which will help inform current capabilities and aptitude for learning against a standardised national background which helps set targets for the future.
Pupils’ attitudes to their work and their enthusiasm for learning are outstanding.
