Personalised Learning
In small classes of 15 to 20, our skilful teachers make learning fun but challenging.
Our teachers' personalised approach to teaching and differentiation in the classroom ensures that learners of diverse abilities are stretched and challenged, or supported and encouraged; so your daughter will perform and achieve to the best of her ability and potential.
During Key Stage 3 teachers will encourage your daughter to takes risks, they will develop and build her learning confidence and they will present her with problems and challenges she may not know how to solve. Through learning conversations with her teachers, collaboration and review she will start to recognise her strengths and by Key Stage 4 she will understand what strategies work for her.
LEARNING DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
The Learning Development Department aims to support girls with specific difficulties in reading, spelling, Maths and study skills. If learning needs have been identified, following reports from your daughter’s previous school, educational professionals and our own assessments, the Head of Learning Development will prepare her a Personal Learning Plan. This will contain practical advice to academic staff about appropriate teaching and learning strategies. The Department works with subject staff to ensure that problems within subjects are dealt with on an individual basis.
Help is based on need and in the event of your daughter requiring individual support; you will be advised of this need and costs that may entail. This tuition takes place generally in one or two periods of non-core curriculum lessons per week.
"Small teaching groups and the teachers' strong understanding of the needs of individual pupils enhance their progress and learning.
