Claires Court has joined the Licensed Trade Charity (LTC), through the LTC Education Group, the Charity’s education arm and a charitable family of schools that includes LVS Ascot. With more than 230 years of heritage and honoured to have HM The King as its Patron, this marks a positive and carefully planned next chapter in the school’s development.
The move builds on a long-standing and trusted relationship between Claires Court and LVS Ascot, developed over many years through shared educational priorities and mutual respect.
Importantly, this change of ownership has been made from a position of strength. Extensive financial, legal, and educational due diligence has confirmed that the decision is firmly in the best interests of the school community and is designed to protect Claires Court’s ethos, strengthen its long-term foundations and create future opportunities for pupils, staff, and families.
What stays the same
Claires Court remains Claires Court.
The school retains its name, identity, ethos, and day-to-day operation. Teaching, learning, pastoral care, safeguarding arrangements, curriculum, routines and term dates all remain unchanged, ensuring continuity for pupils and families.
Claires Court will continue to be led day to day by its existing management team, with Christine Cunniffe working alongside them as Executive Principal, providing additional strategic support and oversight as part of the wider charitable group. James Wilding will remain the Principal for Claires Court for the foreseeable future in order to facilitate a comprehensive handover to Christine Cunniffe, Executive Principal who James will report into.
Why this matters
The LTC Education Group is the education arm of the Licensed Trade Charity, a charitable organisation with more than 230 years of heritage, which is honoured to have HM The King as its Patron. Through the LTC Education Group, it brings together mainstream and specialist schools, including LVS Ascot, under a shared mission:
Transforming Lives, Unleashing Potential
Being part of a charitable group strengthens Claires Court’s ability to plan confidently for the future, invest responsibly and benefit from wider expertise, while protecting the qualities that make the school distinctive.
Any future opportunities for collaboration or enrichment will be introduced gradually and thoughtfully, always in keeping with Claires Court’s ethos and values.
