Our Year 8 Senior Boys and Senior Girls headed to Oxford this week, where they enjoyed a brilliant day at the Natural History and Pitt Rivers museums as part of their Art and Science courses.
Pitt Rivers, an Aladdin's cave of a museum, was the perfect setting for them to immerse themselves and investigate this term’s topic about pattern. They explored the museum’s impressive display of 500,000 archaeological and ethnographic objects and sketched patterns from a variety of objects and cultures. These drawings will be worked into larger final pieces back at school this term. In the Natural History Museum they considered colour in nature and the bug workshop was a highlight for our budding entomologists.
