Students at Claires Court are celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results this summer, with the Class of 2025 outperforming even pre-pandemic benchmarks.
This year's cohort, who began their senior school journey after a disrupted Year 6, during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, have demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination, achieving standout academic success.
An impressive 95.3 % of students secured five or more GCSEs at grades 9–4, including English and Maths. There was strong performance across the board, with 42% of all grades awarded at 9–7 and 68% at grades 9–6. Standout subjects with 100% grades 9-5 included Biology, Chemistry, Further Mathematics and Physics.
James Wilding, Academic Principal at Claires Court, commended the achievements:
“Bearing in mind our broad ability intake, these successes highlight that the vast majority of our students are able to progress to further education—either in our own sixth form or elsewhere, without impediment.
Moreover, this achievement spans a range of 27 GCSE subjects, allowing for a broad spectrum of study programmes, some of which support elite athletes through a demanding competitive schedule throughout the school year.
Perhaps even more notable is that all 104 students in Year 10 have already achieved their English Language GCSE, suggesting that next year’s results will be equally impressive.
As ever, my thanks go to the students who have worked so hard, to the teachers who have inspired them, and above all to the parents who have provided brilliant support—from #lockdown onwards!”
Steve Richards, Head of Seniors for both Boys and Girls, added:
“Claires Court is once again celebrating a remarkable year of academic success, as students open a new set of record-breaking results this morning. These achievements are a testament to the powerful combination of hardworking pupils and the dedication of the school’s outstanding teaching staff.
The progress made by students across all areas of school life is exceptional, both within the classroom and through the wide range of extracurricular opportunities available to them. At Claires Court, when motivation meets opportunity, great things happen.
We are incredibly proud of our students and everything they have achieved. They leave us as confident, well-rounded individuals, ready to take on the next stage of their education and make a positive impact in a rapidly changing world.”
